We embrace our profound social responsibility as caretakers of the communities where we operate. Our hotels play a vital role in local ecosystems to foster a safe and caring environment, and to help those communities thrive.
We drive inclusion and social mobility by engaging with communities to empower people of all backgrounds to unlock their full potential. We act to shelter and protect the most vulnerable and safeguard human rights. Our Social Care & Impact approach is deeply collaborative, touching all our stakeholders, working with local organizations and NGOs, and engaging and empowering Heartists®.
Our Social Care & Impact Commitments
Social Elevator
We empower people of all backgrounds to unlock their full potential. Our open recruitment process and social elevator programs create unique opportunities for employment, while our comprehensive training and development build stable and fulfilling professional lives.
Shelter & Protection
By making our hotels places of refuge, we offer aid, safety, and comfort to victims of violence or disasters. We provide temporary housing, a secure setting, and personalized assistance for those facing extreme vulnerability, ensuring safety when it matters most.
Volunteering
We mobilize our Heartists for community engagement. Through our Heartist® Volunteer Program, launched in 2025, we encourage teams to dedicate their time, skills, and talents to create meaningful change and stand in solidarity with those in need of support.
Safeguarding Human Rights
We are deeply committed to upholding human rights for all individuals impacted by our operations worldwide. We take decisive action to eliminate all kinds of exploitation from our operations and supply chains (such as forced labor and sexual exploitation of children) to ensure fair and decent working conditions for our Heartists®. Our Human Rights Policy reaffirms this fundamental commitment.
We are part of several initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact, the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance and Entreprises pour les Droits de l'Homme to exchange with industry peers and work towards finding common solutions to address the human rights challenges, in particular forced labor, in the hospitality sector.
To better protect the most vulnerable, we also developed the We Act Together for Children (WATCH) program, empowering organizations and hotels to identify and respond to cases of child sexual exploitation.
Heartist® Solidarity Endowment Fund
A natural extension of our people-centric approach, our long-standing Endowment Fund empowers populations living in precarious conditions to break cycles of poverty and social exclusion.
Partnering with NGOs and local non-profit organizations, we deliver long-term solutions in two key areas: promoting access to employment and entrepreneurship, and addressing lasting consequences of humanitarian disasters.
Over 200,000 people have regained autonomy through professional activities we've supported. Our team members initiate and represent the Endowment Fund’s actions, and we champion their commitment by providing comprehensive support from project selection to transformative completion.
